Trainee of Caroline: a success

Trainee of Caroline is over. 2 monthes is short but she made a good work and reached some successes:

• her integration in João Pessoa and the lab. was really good
• she improved her Portuguese and now interacts well with all people
• we used for the first time a 0.13um SiGe BiCMOS technology from Global Foundries to make PA that reached Pout~20 dBm, G~12dB and PAE~30% @ 60 GHz
• she dances forro  😀

Here is Caroline’s testimony:

“This trainee was for me a really good opportunity to gain a professional experience in RFIC domain and discover a new culture. I was really good received by the students, professors and people. It helped me to quickly be adapted.

I liked to work with more experimented students and two professors passionate by their job. However, I noticed lack of some equipment and staff to help students to develop microelectronics sector. Indeed, UFPB owns a lot of space that could be used more efficiently for research.

I recommend to all students that have the opportunity to make a trainee in a foreign country and especially in UFPB, Brazil. These trades benefit everyone to be awareness of strengths, what it have to change and develop. It is a country where I will come back.”
