New technology – New research theme

Our last design was made using for the first time the technology GF8SF (CMOS 0.13 um) through MOSIS educational program. We hope that models will be as good as for GF7SF (CMOS 0.18um). For this run, Elmo (undergraduate student) designed a 2.4 GHz low power receiver.

But, we will now focus our works on 60 GHz band. So, a 60 GHz oscillator was designed. And, maybe more interesting, slow-wave transmission lines were introduced too. All indicates that such transmission lines will be default lines for microwave IC designs. With the characterization of these lines and retrosimulation, we will gain an important knowledge on their EM simulation.
